Local Motive

“What a lovely, picturesque venue! I've visited twice for events, and each experience has been wonderful. The restored train car creates a truly unique atmosphere that's both comfortable and inviting. Local Motive is a memorable setting for any gathering, and the staff made the experience even better. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating from start to finish. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests and take pride in what they do. Whether you're attending an event or considering Local Motive for your next private event, I recommend it and am already looking forward to my next visit.”

“Bartender on Thursday May 29th was super unfriendly and gave an abundance of dirty looks as we happily asked questions about the drink menu. We aren’t from here so my husband was interested in the difference between the old fashions. The bartender gave him a very dirty look when he selected an option after asking for his opinion. It made our family uncomfortable and we were sad because we were SO excited to get drinks here after dinner next door! We came in with happy moods excited to converse with staff and enjoy drinks and left uncomfortable and kind of bad. The highlight was when a children’s song randomly started playing on the Spotify. That was weird but funny enough to break the tension in the small space between the bartender and my family.”

“Prasanna and his crew are genuinely the most incredible, amazing, helpful people ever. They gave our group the most wonderful wedding reception we could have ever imagined. I cannot recommend this place enough, and cannot thank you guys enough for everything !!! ”

“I hosted a private birthday party at Local Motive for about 35 guests and it was *perfect*. From the atmosphere to the attention to the service to the fabulous drinks (the bartenders crafted a specialty cocktail to fit my disco theme!)... everything was great. We came in early to decorate and set up food (which we brought in, but you can cater from next door at Bandit or anywhere, really!) and the owners are super accommodating. My friends and I were highly impressed, and a couple people have now booked their own parties because of mine. This is *such* a great value... it's really tops for Madison, and cannot be beat.”

“Local Motive was absolutely perfect for our small wedding ceremony. It's a gorgeous and cozy space with charming artsy features. The staff (specifically Prasanna and Brett) were so incredible and caring, they really made it so easy to have a great time. I could not recommend Local Motive more!!!”
